My name is Lexi Lahey and I am a second year student pharmacist. As a future pharmacist, I am passionate about ambulatory care and diabetes education. I am involved with the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists as the Operation Diabetes Chair and the pharmaceutical fraternity Phi Delta Chi. Outside the classroom, I enjoy being outside and staying active. I am invested in health equity because I feel that pharmacists can play a large role in resolving health inequities. In addition, in order for my future patients to trust me as their pharmacist, I want to understand what barriers they face and how I can end them. Pharmacy and public health work well together, and there is untapped potential of how a pharmacist can serve all members of their community. As a member of CHEqi, I am interested in overcoming barriers that affect the availability and accessibility to care. I believe that everyone deserves to have access to healthcare.
